Vacant house occupied by homeless catches fire, officials say

A vacant house being occupied by a homeless person caught fire early this morning, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

The fire was reported about 1:30 a.m. in a one-story house at 5807 Cory Place, officials said.

Firefighters had the flames under control in about 10 minutes, according to the department’s Twitter page.

No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $150,000, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
