A Rancho High School teacher was arrested Thursday on two counts of first-degree kidnapping and four counts of sexual acts with a student ages 16-17, according to the Clark County School District and jail records.

Jason R. Lofthouse, 32, was also arrested on two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to Clark County Detention Center records.

He is being held without bail at the Clark County jail.

He has been a CCSD teacher since 2010, district spokeswoman Michelle Booth said.

According to the website of Rancho High School, located at 1900 Searles Ave., near Eastern and Washington avenues, Lofthouse teaches advanced placement human geography and honors U.S. government.

He is scheduled for a 48-hour hearing at 9:30 a.m. Friday, jail records show.

Booth could not immediately comment on the status of Lofthouse's employment.

Thursday was the last day of school for CCSD institutions.
