Authorities are airing findings an investigation of the fatal police shooting of a man they say wielded an SKS assault rifle during a 90-minute standoff outside a Las Vegas home.
The review Wednesday in the April 2014 death of 40-year-old Travis Doering comes after Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson made a preliminary ruling clearing SWAT police Officer John Jessie Wiggins in the shooting.
Police say Doering's roommates left the rental home a little more than 2 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip and called police, reporting that Doering had been acting strange for several weeks and hadn't slept in several days.
Doering was killed about 5:30 a.m. after police say he loaded the rifle, leaned against a car and pointed the weapon toward officers nearby.
