Fire that started in shed causes $30,000 damage

A fire that started in an outdoor shed spread to a house in an east valley neighborhood, causing about $30,000 damage, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Nobody was injured, officials said.

The fire was reported about 9 p.m. Wednesday at the house in the 4100 block of South Pearl Street, near Flamingo and Pecos roads.

The fire started in the shed and spread into the attic of the house, officials said. The residents and their pets escaped before firefighters arrived, officials said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
