A car caught fire this afternoon in the garage of the Las Vegas North Premium Outlets downtown, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

Multiple people called 911 about 3:10 p.m. to report smoke coming from the garage of the outlet mall, located at 875 S. Grand Central Parkway, near West Charleston Boulevard, fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

No injuries were reported, and there was no damage to any buildings, he said.

Fire from under the hood of one car in the garage caused heat damage to a second car, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, he said.

The official cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Szymanski said car fires are not uncommon this time of year given the heat.
