Coroner IDs man killed in Laughlin cliff-jumping incident

A man who died Sunday morning while cliff jumping in Laughlin has been identified as Jose Onofre Molina Jr., 29, of Mohave Valley, Ariz., according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Molina was jumping into the Colorado River from a rock ledge on the Nevada side of the river about 6:30 a.m. and apparently hit something on the way down, Metro Police said.

The incident appears to have been an accident, Officer Larry Hadfield said.

The Coroner’s Office has not determined the official cause and manner of death.
