A man suspected of shooting a relative in North Las Vegas last week has surrendered to authorities, police said.

Terry Johnson, 38, turned himself in Sunday and was booked at the Las Vegas City Jail.

On Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Country Grove Avenue, near Carey Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard, after reports of a shooting. Arriving officers located a man, 42, suffering from a gunshot wound, North Las Vegas Police said.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition; he has since been upgraded to stable condition.

An investigation revealed that the two men are related. Witnesses reported that Johnson and the victim were arguing just before the shooting.

Johnson was arrested on one count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, domestic battery with use of a deadly weapon, and ex-felon in possession of a handgun, police said.
