Metro to await coroner’s ruling before investigating death

Metro Police will wait for a report from the coroner's office before it takes possible action on a confrontation that led to the death of a man.

Officers responded about 11 p.m. Saturday at an apartment complex. The initial report says that a family was having a party near the swimming pool when a man approached them while brandishing a knife.

Metro Officer Laura Meltzer says there was a confrontation and a man died.

Metro homicide detectives called the incident a possible homicide.

The Clark County coroner's office said Monday that it has a positive identification for the victim and has performed an autopsy. It is attempting to contact all relatives before releasing man's identity.
