An 81-year-old woman died this afternoon, two days after she was hit by a car while crossing a street outside a crosswalk, Metro Police said.
Joan Freeman of Las Vegas was crossing South Rainbow Boulevard north of the Twain Avenue intersection Wednesday morning when she was hit by a northbound 2003 Mercedes-Benz S430, police said.
She was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 1:10 p.m. today, police said.
The 36-year-old Las Vegas man driving the car remained at the scene and was not injured in the crash, police said.
