Fire does $67,000 damage to house in Henderson

One person and a pet were displaced after an accidental house fire this morning caused an estimated $67,000 damage, according to the Henderson Fire Department.

Firefighters responded about 6:40 a.m. to a fire at a single-story house on Running River Road, near Green Valley Parkway and Warm Springs Road, city spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

Firefighters contained the fire to one room, Richards said.

The occupant was able to escape and was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, Richards said.

The American Red Cross offered assistance.
