Nevada jobless rate steady after first increase in years

Nevada's unemployment rate stayed the same in February, after the first monthly increase was reported in years.

The state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Friday that Nevada's jobless rate stayed at a seasonally adjusted 7.1 percent in February.

January's numbers were also at 7.1 percent, which was 0.1 percent increase from December 2014's 7.0 percent.

That was the first month-over-month increase the state had seen in more than four years.

The last time Nevada saw an increase to its unemployment number was in 2010, when the rate was nearly twice as high.

September 2010's rate of 13.7 percent was an increase from August 2010's 13.6 percent.

Since then, the unemployment numbers have generally been falling, although little by little with some months of it remaining the same.
