A motorcyclist who died Sunday in a crash on State Route 169 in Overton has been identified as Michael West Owen, 57, of Henderson, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Owen was riding a 2014 black Harley-Davidson south on State Route 169 about 3 p.m. when the motorcycle crossed the right paved shoulder of the road and struck a road sign, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle overturned and struck a guardrail as it traveled farther south, officials said.
Owen was pronounced dead at the scene in the 23rd fatal accident investigated by NHP's Southern Command this year.
Both southbound lanes on State Route 169 were closed in the area as troopers investigated.
