Sandoval not planning disciplinary action for spokeswoman arrested on DUI count

CARSON CITY — Gov. Brian Sandoval does not intend to discipline his spokeswoman who was arrested Friday night on a drunken driving charge in Reno.

Mari St. Martin was picked up by sheriff’s deputies for going the wrong way on a one-way street. She was released from jail Saturday.

Mike Willden, chief of staff for Sandoval, said today there will not be any disciplinary action taken and that any punishment will come from the courts. He called her “an excellent communications director.”

St. Martin issued a public apology Monday to her family, the governor and the people of Nevada for her actions.
