3 killed, 1 hurt in crash near Laughlin

Authorities in southern Nevada are investigating the cause of a rollover crash that killed three people and injured a fourth on State Route 163 near Laughlin.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says only one vehicle, a 2000 GMC Safari, was involved in the crash about 1:40 p.m. Sunday.

The left rear tire of the GMC failed wile traveling eastbound on SR163. The driver, 85, overcorrected right and lost control of the car.

The GMC rotated clockwise and entered the desert area south of the road.

Clark County fire officials transported the driver and only surviving victim to University Medical Center in Las Vegas for treatment of minor injuries.

A male passenger, 82, and two female passengers, 84 and 77, were all pronounced dead at the scene, Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified one of the victims as Raymond Guzman, 82, of Los Angeles. The names of the others have not been released.

Police in Las Vegas are leading the investigation of the accident.
