Stormy weather looms over the Las Vegas Valley on May 18, 2015.

Nearly an inch of rain fell in parts of Henderson today and more than an inch in Summerlin, as the National Weather Service issued flood advisories and warned of gusty winds, hail and lightning.

A flood advisory was issued for Henderson, where a half inch of rain fell in some parts in just a half hour, the weather service said.

The Green Valley and Anthem areas have seen .91 inches of rain, mostly in the past hour, meteorologist Nathan Foster said. Hail was reported in some areas. A flood advisory was issued for Green Valley and Anthem until 2:15 p.m.

A flood advisory for Summerlin, meanwhile, lasted for almost two hours, ending at 12:30 p.m. A total of 1.26 inches of rain was measured in the area, according to the weather service.

Summerlin and Lone Mountain experienced winds up to 40 mph, small hail, and thunder and lightning, according to the weather service.

Showers are expected to taper off this evening, and no rain is expected Tuesday, Foster said.

Temperatures are expected to stay in the low to mid-80s this week; Wednesday should be the warmest day, with a high of 85 degrees, Foster said. The low for tonight is expected to be about 59 degrees.

A warming trend expected to begin this weekend may bring temperatures back into the 90s next week, Foster said. The normal high for this time of year is 90, with a low of 67 degrees.
