Man knocks on apartment door, shoots 2 in southeast valley

Updated Monday, May 18, 2015 | 11:32 p.m.

Two people were injured in an apparent gang-related shooting Monday night at a southeast valley apartment complex.

Metro Police were called about 8:15 p.m. to the complex at 5600 Boulder Highway, near Tropicana Avenue, after a man knocked on a door then fired multiple rounds into the residence, Lt. Dave Valenta said.

A woman was shot in the arm, and a man was shot in the leg — both nonlife-threatening injuries, he said.

Both were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, he said.

Their conditions were not immediately available.

The suspect has not been caught by police, and detectives are on scene, he said.

There are no major road closures as a result of the shooting, Valenta said.
