Motorcyclist killed in crash near airport is ID’d

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a motorcyclist in a crash with a bus over the weekend near McCarran International Airport.

The patrol says a man on a Harley-Davidson apparently failed to maintain his travel lane and ran into the side of a large bus on the airport connector road north of the 215 Beltway about 2:45 a.m. Sunday.

The man died at the scene. The Clark County Coroner's Office identified him as 25-year-old Brandon Phillips of Las Vegas.

He died of multiple injuries in the accident, the Coroner's Office said.

No one else was injured.

Traffic was slowed in the area for several hours while troopers conducted an investigation.

Sun reporter Pashtana Usufzy contributed to this report.
