Jury selection began Monday in Las Vegas for the trial of a 29-year-old Bulgarian woman accused of driving away after her car struck and killed a grandfather pushing a stroller on the shoulder of a busy road almost a year ago.

Galina Stoyanova Kilova pleaded not guilty in the crash that killed 63-year-old Michael Grubbs and left Grubbs' 18-month-old granddaughter with cuts and scrapes in an overturned stroller. The girl survived.

Kilova could face up to 15 years in prison if she's convicted of failure to stop at the scene of a crash causing injury or death.

One motorist has described trying to follow the Honda Civic involved in the Nov. 24, 2014, crash.

Kilova surrendered to police eight days later.

She's also accused of having an expired U.S. visa.
