Updated Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 | 5:20 p.m.

A Las Vegas woman who was killed early Friday after running a red light and crashing a minivan into a semitrailer near the Strip has been identified as Irene Harris, 39.

According to Metro Police:

The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. at Russell Road and Frank Sinatra Drive. A semitractor-trailer was turning left onto eastbound Russell Road from the south exit at Mandalay Bay when the westbound van went through a red light at Frank Sinatra.

The minivan wedged under the semitrailer, with the front of the car partially protruding from the other side of the trailer.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene; her cause of death was blunt-force trauma, according to the Clark County Coroner's office.

The driver of the truck, a 63-year-old Las Vegas man, was not injured, police said.

The crash remains under investigation. It was the 97th traffic-related fatality this year in Metro’s jurisdiction.
