Lieutenant governor named to Commission on Homeland Security

CARSON CITY — Gov. Brian Sandoval has named Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchinson to the Governor’s Commission on Homeland Security. The commission’s aim is to protect Nevadans against terrorist attacks.

The commission was created after the September 2001 attacks on the United States. It makes recommendations to the governor and Legislature for the protection of citizens.

The commission’s next meeting is Dec. 10 in Carson City.
