A woman and her 8-year-old child who were fatally shot by their neighbor Friday morning in the southern part of the valley have been identified by the Clark County Coroner's office.

Jennifer Bagley, 39, of Las Vegas was shot by a neighbor in a home in the 7200 block of Hardtack Circle, near east Warm Springs and Paradise roads, according to Metro Police.

Officers found Bagley's body in the entryway of the house after her 9- or 10-year-old daughter alerted another neighbor of the incident, police said.

A 2- or 3-year-old boy was rescued from the scene unharmed.

Bagley's son, Lex Donoso, was allegedly kidnapped by the neighbor and brought to the neighbor's house two doors down, where officers later heard gunshots, police said.

The incident was treated as a hostage situation until police forced their way into the house, which had boarded-up windows, and found the man and the child dead, police said.

Police have not yet released the identity of the suspect, a man in his 40s.

No shots were fired by police, and a motive for the shootings wasn’t immediately clear, police said.
