Driver flees scene after hitting young pedestrian in east valley

A juvenile was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in an east valley hit-and-run crash, according to Metro Police.
Police were called about 6 p.m. to the area near Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue, where an accident with injury was reported, Lt. Harry Demetres said.
The minor was crossing the street and was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, he said.
The pedestrian suffered what appear to be nonlife-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, police said.
No road closures were reported.
