Brenden Joyce completed 11 of 12 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns today for the Faith Lutheran High football team, helping it score four first-quarter touchdowns in a 44-14 victory against host Sierra Vista.

Joyce connected with Elijah Kothe for two touchdowns, and running back Christian Marshall had scores of 42 and 60 yards in building a quick 27-0 lead.

“Joyce had a huge game throwing the ball down the field. He was very, very accurate,” Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox said. “He stayed in the pocket, kept his eyes down field and delivered some good balls.”

Marshall carried the ball 10 times for 164 yards, and Alec Netski had four catches for 74 yards and a touchdown.

After dropping its opener, Faith Lutheran (6-1 overall, 5-0 Sunset League) has won six straight games.
