CARSON CITY — The state Transportation Department will announce Monday the contractor chosen to design and build Project Neon, the expansion of traffic-clogged Interstate 15 in Las Vegas.
Three companies are in the running for the job: Kiewit Infrastructure West Co., Las Vegas Paving Corp. and Neon Mobility Constructors.
All three companies submitted bids for the project. The department will negotiate a contract with the winning bidder and present it in November to the state Transportation Board, which will award the final contract.
Construction is expected to start early next year.
