Former baseball star Jose Canseco plays during Brad Garrett’s Maximum Hope Foundation Poker Tournament at the Tropicana on Sept. 17, 2011.

Former Major League Baseball slugger Jose Canseco has thoughts about the 2016 presidential campaign — and he took to Twitter today to broadcast them.

The “Juiced” author said the candidates ought to pass the “Canseco test” on issues that include “anti-aging, space colonies, extra-terrestrial knowledge transfer, cancer extermination, environmental regeneration.”

His ideal candidate is a “digital human being who can evolve us at pace of technology change with equal access for all. So we quit losing to China.”

A little Trump? A little Al Gore? It’s hard to put Canseco on the political spectrum. Come to think of it, sounds like Canseco may decide to vote for Transhumanist candidate Zoltan Istvan.

The Las Vegas resident is just one of a number of swing voters in the all-important state, which held a Democratic debate last week and will hold a Republican debate in December — but he may be the only one to have hit 42 home runs and steal 40 bases in a single season. Or to have shot off his finger while cleaning a gun at home.
