31-year-old inmate dies in Nevada prison

Prison officials say a 31-year-old inmate convicted of attempted theft has died.

The Nevada Department of Corrections said Travis Gray died Friday at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center's regional medical facility. The agency did not note the circumstances of Gray's death.

The agency says Gray had been in prison since mid-July serving up to 48 months for attempted theft stemming from a conviction in Clark County.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office is expected to conduct an autopsy.
