Parts of valley get sprinkles; slight chance of rain continues

Updated Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 | 12:36 a.m.

A few sprinkles fell around the Las Vegas Valley on Wednesday, but it's not expected to last too long, according to the National Weather Service.

Less than 0.01 inch of rain fell in areas of the valley including Henderson, and a few hundredths of an inch was expected to fall overnight, weather service meteorologist Caleb Steele said.

The chance of rain drops to less than 10 percent Thursday, he said.

There could be showers Thursday on Mount Charleston, he said.

Winds in the southeast valley reached about 10 miles per hour Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday is expected to be cloudy with winds from the north reaching 10 to 15 mph in some parts of the valley, Steele said.

The temperature peaked at 79 degrees Wednesday, about four degrees above the normal high for the day, he said.
