Fire does $355,000 damage at Henderson popcorn shop

A fire at a popcorn shop early today caused about $355,000 damage, according to the Henderson Fire Department.

The fire started in the store’s security camera equipment, officials said. The store was closed at the time, and nobody was injured.

Firefighters responded about 2:30 a.m. to the fire at Las Vegas Kettle Corn, 110 North Boulder Highway, near East Lake Mead Parkway.

The building’s sprinkler system helped control the blaze, which was in an office area, until firefighters could put it out, officials said.

The fire at the strip mall did not extend into neighboring businesses.
