A fire Saturday did an estimated $5,000 in damage at several businesses and a church at 5000 W. Oakey Blvd., according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.
Also according to Fire & Rescue:
Dispatchers received reports at 6:54 p.m. of heavy smoke coming from the roof of a large building in San Marcos Plaza. Firefighters forced their way into a business there and found the unit full of smoke.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was in a storage area in the back of the business. Several businesses and the church sustained minor smoke damage.
No one was hurt. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
Firefighters from the Clark County Fire Department assisted.
