Shooting victim dies after being shoved from vehicle in southwest valley

A man was shot in a vehicle before being pushed out of it at a southwest valley intersection early Tuesday, according to Metro Police.

Police were called to investigate a report of a man falling from a vehicle onto the street about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Willowhill Street and Cape Flattery Avenue, near Buffalo Drive and Tropicana Avenue, according to Metro.

The man, a resident of the neighborhood, had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, police said.

The identity of the deceased man and his cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Residents in the area told police they heard gunshots before the man was found on the street, but the exact location of the shooting couldn't be immediately determined, police said.

Police say they found a vehicle Wednesday morning in which they believe the shooting took place.

A man who walked into St. Rose Dominican Hospital — San Martin Campus with a gunshot wound around the time of the incident was determined to be a person of interest, police said. He was transferred to University Medical Center and has been booked in absentia into the Clark County Detention Center in a separate case, police said.

This is the 89th homicide this year investigated by Metro.
