Coroner IDs Las Vegas girl killed in apparent ‘car surfing’ fall

Authorities in Las Vegas are identifying a 16-year-old girl who died of a head injury two days after a fall from a minivan during an apparent pre-dawn "car surfing" stunt in a high school parking lot.

The Clark County coroner said Tuesday the death of Donya Badiepour (BAH'-dee-pohr) was ruled an accident.

But police said investigators are recommending traffic charges against the 15-year-old driver.

The charges weren't specified, and the name of the driver wasn't made public because of his age.

The coroner says Badiepour died Aug. 8 at University Medical Center.

Police say she fell about 3 a.m. Aug. 6 from the exterior of a 2004 Toyota Sienna that swerved around a speed bump outside Durango High School.

Police think Badiepour lost her grip on the vehicle luggage rack.
