The venerable Las Vegas travel booking site VEGAS.com will officially change hands this week.

Las Vegas-based Remark Media Inc. announced today that it would close its acquisition of the site on Friday after reaching a deal with VEGAS.com's founding company, The Greenspun Corporation. That agreement was announced last month.

Since launching in 1998, VEGAS.com has become one of the world's most popular travel websites, attracting 3.4 million visitors per month. The site offers a full range of ticketing services — travel, accommodations, shows, attractions and tours — as well as guides to Las Vegas resorts, restaurants, nightlife and more.

Remark will add the site to a suite of websites and apps that includes several tax and banking sites, a hotel-booking mobile service and the beachwear online boutique bikini.com.

In an interview last month, Remark CEO Kai-Shing Tao said the company was drawn to VEGAS.com partly because of the potential to tailor it to a millennial audience through development of mobile apps and platforms, as well as content enhancements.

The Greenspun Corporation is owned and operated by the Greenspun family of Las Vegas.
