The lawyer for a Las Vegas transit bus driver accused of shooting a passenger says no one should jump to conclusions about the case.
Norman Chen made an initial appearance Wednesday before a Las Vegas judge who appointed deputy public defender Geordan Logan to represent Chen and scheduled a Friday bail hearing.
Logan says Chen will seek release from jail ahead of trial, and might claim self-defense.
Chen is 53. He's held without bail on an attempted murder charge in the Friday evening shooting.
He told police the passenger refused to get off the bus Friday evening, and threatened and punched him.
The wounded man, Felipe Delgado, told police that Chen pushed him, and that he was shot in the arm while running after seeing that Chen had a handgun.
