A moped rider killed Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in North Las Vegas has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Dudley Harvey Batchelor Jr., 49.

A man was later arrested and booked on counts that included driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an injury crash, police said.

Officers were called to the 3300 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, east of Rancho Drive, about 9 p.m., police said.

The caller reported that Batchelor’s body and a moped were on the road, police said.

After the crash, a witness followed a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Christian Potter, 20, to a nearby shopping center, police said. After a struggle with officers, he was taken into custody.
