Metro Police identified this person as a suspect in the attempted robbery of a bank on West Cheyenne Avenue, near North Durango Drive, about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016.

Metro Police say they are looking for a man in a floppy hat who waited patiently in line at a bank, handed a teller a note demanding money and then took off empty-handed.

The incident happened about 11:30 a.m. Thursday at a bank on West Cheyenne Avenue, near North Durango Drive, police said. The note the man handed the teller indicated he had a weapon, police said.

When another customer asked the teller if everything was OK, the man fled without any money, police said.

He may have been seen on foot near West Ann Road and North Durango Drive before going into the bank, police said.

The suspect, captured on surveillance video, appears to be in his 30s with a medium build, police said. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants, gray or brown shoes, a straw gardening hat, sunglasses and a black backpack, police said.
