Juvenile in critical condition after crash closes Green Valley Parkway

Updated Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 | 7:25 p.m.

A rear-end collision that shut down Green Valley Parkway near the 215 Beltway Monday afternoon left one juvenile in critical condition, Henderson Police spokeswoman Michelle French said.

The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. when a red Toyota RAV4 slammed into the back of a gray RAV4 at the Wigwam Parkway intersection, French said.

French said three people were in the front vehicle — two adults and one juvenile — all of whom were hospitalized. The juvenile was taken to St. Rose Dominican's Siena Campus in critical condition and the others were taken to University Medical Center in unknown condition.

The driver of the vehicle that rear-ended the other was taken to Sunrise Hospital in unknown condition.

Two other cars suffered minor damage in the crash, but no one else was hurt, French said.

As of 7:25 p.m. the intersection remained closed while police investigate.
