A pickup truck smashed into a celebrity chef's Henderson restaurant on Monday afternoon, halting operations for at least two weeks, according to the owner.

Carla Pellegrino, who gained recognition in Bravo's "Top Chef" show, said the wreck "(left) behind a rack of damages to my restaurant and to our lives."'

The restaurant, Bratalian by Carla Pellegrino, 10740 S. Eastern Ave., south of Horizon Ridge Parkway, was closed when a driver lost control of his truck about 1:45 p.m. and crashed into the dining area, Henderson police spokeswoman Michelle French said.

The driver, a man in his 40s, was hospitalized with minor injuries, French said. The crash remains under investigation, and a cause for the driver losing control hasn't been established, she said.

Photos posted on Pellegrino's Facebook page show tables and chairs upended and destroyed.

Upon calling the restaurant, a voice message informs customers the business is expected to remain closed for two weeks during renovations.
