Metro Police

Metro Police say they arrested Jaime Santana, 25, on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, in the beating death of a woman in the 300 block of Lilac Lane on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016.

A man accused of beating a woman to death with a metal pipe and then fleeing in her car last week has been arrested, according to Metro Police.

Jaime Santana, 25, was arrested today without incident in the east valley, police said.

Officers were called to Santana's father’s house in the 300 block of Lilac Lane, near Rancho Drive and Bonanza Road, about 12:25 a.m. on Aug. 12, police said. Residents there discovered a woman’s body in a pool of blood with head injuries, police said.

Jaime Santana, who was gone before the body was discovered, beat Cinthia Wendy Rodriguez-Perez, 25, in the head with a metal pipe and then fled in her car, police allege. Officers on Tuesday found the car abandoned not far from Santana’s house, police said.

Santana was taken into custody in the area of Charleston Boulevard and Palm Street, police said.

He was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of murder, auto theft and robbery, according to jail records.
