Man dies after fight in central valley

A man died Saturday after suffering a head injury during a fight in the central valley.

Metro Police responded about 4:15 p.m. to the 5100 block of Greene Lane, near Maryland Parkway and East Hacienda Avenue, on reports of a fight. Upon arrival, they found a man with a laceration to his head, police said.

The man was taken to Desert Springs Hospital, where he later died. His identity, cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators determined that the victim had suffered a head wound while he was involved in a fight with another man, according to Metro. Officers detained the second man at the scene, but he was not arrested.

Further details were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.

This is the 110th homicide investigated by Metro Police this year.
