It shouldn't be a surprise to wake up to soaked streets in the Las Vegas Valley Saturday morning, as there's a decent chance thunderstorms will develop overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

As of Friday evening, light showers had begun to fall in the far west valley but were not expected to stay put, meteorologist Caleb Steele said.

Storms hammering southern Clark County Friday night prompted the weather service to issue a flash flood warning near the Searchlight area, which was set to expire at 9:30 p.m.

The best opportunity for valleywide rain would be overnight, when the chances were set at 40 percent, he said. The possibility of rain is 30 percent on Saturday.

Steele said cloudy conditions should also lower temperatures, which reached 98 degrees Friday and aren't expected to rise above 92 on Saturday.
