A child was hospitalized Sunday evening with injuries that weren’t life threatening after a shooting at a northwest valley home, according to Metro Police.
Officers responded about 11:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 4800 block of White Aspen Avenue, near North Decatur Boulevard and West Ann Road, Officer Laura Meltzer said.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the preteen child may have accidentally discharged the weapon, Meltzer said.
Abuse and neglect detectives are investigating the incident.
