Homicide detectives are probing the death of a man whose body was partially burned and dismembered, and found abandoned Wednesday morning in a vacant northeast valley lot, according to Metro Police.

A passerby discovered the body about 9 a.m. in the 2000 block of Dolly Lane, near Lake Mead and Lamb boulevards, police said. The body was in a dirt lot about 25 feet from a roadway.

A preliminary investigation determined the man was likely killed in a separate location, police said. Further details were not immediately available.

The man will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office.

This was the 166th homicide investigated by Metro so far this year.
