Cliven Bundy attends the funeral for friend LaVoy Finicum in Kanab, Utah, on Friday.

Cliven Bundy spoke against grazing contracts Friday during a funeral for an Oregon occupation leader who urged ranchers to disavow their contracts with the government.

Supporters and family members of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum gathered Friday in Kanab to remember the man killed last month during a confrontation with FBI agents and Oregon state troopers. The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/20PvqHI) that Bundy said the federal government didn't want Finicum to teach others that ranchers' land stewardship gives them rights.

Bundy is a Nevada rancher who was at the center of a 2014 armed standoff with federal authorities over grazing rights on government land. His son Ammon was arrested after he and his armed followers occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Bundy said Friday that ranchers who sign grazing contracts are sending the message that the federal government has unlimited power.
