Motorcyclist dies after rear-ending car

A motorcyclist died after crashing into the back of a car Sunday night in the northern valley, according to Metro Police.

Both vehicles were headed north on Bradley Road, near the 215 Beltway and North Decatur Boulevard, about 7:30 p.m. when the motorcycle crashed into the back of a Nissan Sentra as the car slowed to make a right turn, police said. Police said the motorcycle was traveling at high speed, but did not specify how fast.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist was taken to University Medical Center and later died, police said.

The 74-year-old man driving the car and a passenger, a 56-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries, police said.

The crash resulted in the 12th traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
