Metro Police releases video of attempted robber who was tackled

A man who tried to rob a woman at a fast-food restaurant last month was thwarted when she tackled him, then held on until a Good Samaritan shooed him away. Now Metro Police has released video of the incident in an attempt to find the man.

In the video, the unidentified woman appears to be walking out of a bathroom, and the man tries to take a purse from the stroller she is pulling.

The woman realizes what is happening, rushes the man as he leaves, grabs his waist and tackles him.

The incident happened the morning of Jan. 16 in the 2200 block of East Sahara Avenue.

The man was described as 30 to 35 years old, about 5 feet, 9 inches, and weighing about 180 pounds. He's also described as balding and wore a dark long-sleeved jacket or shirt and dark-colored pants.

Police suspect he has been involved with other, similar crimes in the area.
