Man arrested in hit-and-run that killed NLV girl

A 51-year-old man was arrested Friday in the hit-and-run death of a 2-year-old girl last Sunday in North Las Vegas.

Daniel Garcia-Martinez of North Las Vegas faces charges of felony duty to stop at the scene of an accident involving death, failure to give information to party’s at a vehicle accident, failure to give information to officers at a vehicle accident, and driving without a valid driver license, North Las Vegas Officer Aaron Patty said.

Police said Garcia-Martinez was driving a white 1995 Ford Econoline van at about 6 p.m. when he struck and killed Evelyn Green in the 3400 block of Thomas Avenue, near East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Pecos Road, and left the scene.

North Las Vegas police located the van on Tuesday but did not say what information led to Friday's arrest.
