Storm system brings cooler temperatures, chance of rain to valley

You might want to keep your long-sleeve shirts out of storage, Las Vegans.

Temperatures are expected to be 13 degrees cooler Thursday than the 81 degrees you experienced today, said Chris Outler, National Weather Service meteorologist.

If you thought today felt like pool weather, it could have been because the high temperature tied a record set in 1996, Outler said.

Windy conditions today were a part of a storm system that could bring light showers to the Las Vegas Valley tonight and Thursday morning, when there's a 30 percent chance, Outler said.

The clouds should clear Thursday afternoon, Outler said. The thermometer might not go above 68 degrees, which is just slightly above the normal high of 63 degrees.
