One person was killed and several injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and several vehicles this evening that closed the highway to Pahrump for several hours.
The accident was reported about 5:50 p.m. on State Route 160, also known as Blue Diamond Road, about three miles east of Mountain Springs Pass, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel.
The wreck closed the road in both directions — westbound at State Route 159 and eastbound at Tecopa Road. As of 10:45 p.m., traffic was reopened in both directions.
One person is confirmed dead and several injured, and an unknown number were transported to the hospital via helicopter, Stuenkel said.
The accident remains under investigation.
