Woman’s body found in laundry chute at The D

A 26-year-old woman was found dead in a laundry chute at The D Las Vegas near the Fremont Street Experience on Sunday morning.

According to Metro Police:

Officers responded about 2:40 a.m. to the hotel, 301 Fremont St., near South Fourth Street.

The unidentified woman’s death is being investigated as a “suspicious death.” The cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s office.

The woman would have turned 27 years old Friday, her family said.

Hotel spokeswoman Lorena Amaya issued a statement calling the death unfortunate, but declining to comment about the investigation. Amaya says the hotel is cooperating with authorities.
