An inmate died early this morning at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
Sherwood Jordan, 67, was reported dead about 5 a.m.
He was committed from Clark County on Aug. 18, 2004, and was serving a life sentence with possibility of parole for lewdness with a minor and sexual assault with a victim under 16 years old, authorities said.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death, officials said.
